Stop The Bleed Class
“Stop The Bleed” is an initiative to teach the public life-saving steps to help someone that is severely bleeding from an injury. Without intervention, uncontrolled bleeding can lead to death in a matter of minutes. With education and training, the general public can play an important role in preventing severe blood loss. The class is taught in a simplistic manner that anyone can understand the basics of bleeding control.
The class will include some of the following topics:
Locating and identifying uncontrolled bleeding
Pressure dressings
Hemostatic agents
Tourniquet use
This class will also have additional topics that will be beneficial to first responders. Topics such as:
Incident management
Self-aid and Buddy-aid
Management of patient after tourniquet application
This class will be taught at the Oceanside Fire District Training Facility. We would like to thank them in partnering with us in offering this class.
