Introduction to Suturing for Humanitarian and Disaster Relief

Date: April 23rd, 2022

Location: NYU Langone EMS- Long Island - 1000 Zeckendorf Blvd Suite A, Garden City, NY 11530

Cost: $50 per person. Includes individual suture kit for students to keep and practice on.

After a natural disaster, injuries sustained by the community will require immediate. Many of those injuries may require the closure of a wound. This class will cover the basics of suturing in a field setting and the management of the wound long term where access to further can be prolonged.

About the instuctor:

Dr. Jason Chiu is an Army veteran that served from 2004-2009. He deployed to Iraq from 2006-2008. He currently resides in Queens, NY, and works for Mt. Sinai Health System as a surgeon. He also runs Sutton Medical, a direct care medical practice focusing on weight loss, wellness, and dermatologic surgeries.
