Bolivia Mission
The Black 6 Project is embarking on its next humanitarian mission located in San Borja, Bolivia. This particular mission is driven by a shared commitment between the Black 6 Project and Huellas Y Futuro. Together we share a common a common goal to alleviate the suffering and enhance the quality of life for underserved communities. In collaboration with this new partner, we aim to provide vital medical support and holistic care while facilitating solutions for local needs.
Our Mission is comprised of two essential pillars. First, we hope to provide comprehensive medical assistance and conduct thorough assessments, necessary to address critical healthcare gaps. Secondly, as part of our commitment, we are in support of our partnering organization in their construction of a sustainable water source. We recognize the pivotal role fresh water will play in the overall well-being of the affected communities.
Volunteers Needed for Bolivia Project
Date of Deployment: May 16 to May 26, 2024, with an optional stay till May 30, 2024
Mission: On May 16th, 2024, The Black 6 Project will be providing medical support to the Huellas Y Futuro team and its water filtration installment team as they travel to San Borja, Bolivia the closet village to where the Tsimane community resides. While with the Tsimane community, the team will be conducting a medical needs assessment to help determine the medical needs of the people.
General Overview: The Black 6 Project is a non-profit organization that aims to re-purpose military veteran’s skills by applying them to humanitarian work. By working alongside first responders and other mission-driven individuals, we look to solve the big problems of getting basic needs. Through the experience of service, we learn that service to others is what keeps us moving forward.
The Black 6 Project is assembling a team of volunteers to assist with Huellas Y Futuro’s “Clean Water For All” Project
The ideal candidate will have the following:
-Availability for travel on May 16th-26th, 2024. Optional stay to May 30th. No exceptions.
-Valid US Passport with at least 6 months validity from date of departure
-Physical conditioning- must be able to carry 25lbs over 3 miles
-Some proficiency in Spanish
-Experience in a small team setting
-Preferred medical experience; EMT, Paramedic, RN, or MD/DO
-Logistics experience- accountability of equipment and tracking of supplies daily
-Communications- ability to communicate via portable radios,
-Organized and able to work independently
-Comfortable working in inhospitable climates and environments
What’s required:
-Each confirmed volunteer donates a tax-deductible amount of $1,200 to The Black 6 Project to cover flight and boarding
-Must purchase travel insurance
-Make team remote meetings
-Be able to purchase personal equipment (i.e. backpacks, travel clothing)
The Black 6 Project will assist you with fundraising for your $1,200 donation.
-Creation of a personal fundraising page which you can share with your friends and family
-Each member can sell Black 6 Coffee specialty roast of Bolivian coffee which every bag sold, $10 will go towards their fundraising goal
-Social Media shared posts on each volunteers fundraising goal and page
