The 9/11 Memorial Night Ruck March
The Black 6 Project 9/11 Memorial Day Ruck March is our first ruck march event. September 11 is an important date to all of us because the backbone of our disaster relief and humanitarian aid are the volunteers who come from a wide variety of military and first responder backgrounds. Many can recall where they were that day, some were on duty, and for some it launched them into service. The days that followed showed the greatest unity in our nation that we’ve ever witnessed in our generation. Our strong emotion to pay homage to the many lives that perished during the attacks was what created this unity. We must never forget what this day means to us as a city and as a nation. Join us in unity as we pay tribute to our loved ones that we lost that day and the others we continue to lose from 9/11 related illnesses and on the war on terror.

What is a “Ruck March”?
A ruck, hump, or forced march is a military term given to an individual group movement where gear is loaded into a backpack or “ruck” and is carried over long distances. This organized movement is often used in training to build physical and mental strength.
Never Forget
“I want you all to know that America today — that America today is on bended knee in prayer for the people whose lives were lost here, for the workers who work here, for the families who mourn. This nation stands with the good people of New York City, and New Jersey and Connecticut, as we mourn the loss of thousands of our citizens.
Crowd: I can’t hear you.
THE PRESIDENT: I can hear you. I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. And the people who knocked these buildings down will hear all of us soon. ”
